We believe that people are our most important asset. We constantly challenge ourselves to initiate broad reaching activities which support our people and their families while maximizing career opportunities and personal development. This component is aligned with every other brand promise put forth but represents more than just competitive pay and benefits. It is a driving force behind everything we do and demonstrates our commitment to our people and the recruits who may join us. We strive to make that commitment part of our everyday business and culture and to develop the mechanism to find out from our people exactly how we are doing.

Specific action steps implemented and under development include:

• We will adopt the Eco University concept – a comprehensive training platform for skill development, product/industry knowledge and educational support for all other components.
• We will support paid training for any job related subject, and make financial contribution to any lighting industry specific professional certification or licensing program that our people complete.
• We will investigate any and all methods, programs, 3rd party initiatives to help develop a comprehensive physical and mental wellness program for our people.
• We will investigate any and all methods, programs or 3rd party initiatives which can provide our people with support, tools, understanding, etc. with regard to personal financial planning, legal assistance, housing assistance, children’s education funds and other challenges faced by the modern family.
• We will develop the most transparent appraisal process that we can possibly adopt. We will seek direct feedback from our people on the process and also encourage reverse evaluations of their managers. We will standardize the appraisal approach, the fair application of outcomes and pay raises and adopt, whenever possible, a promotion from within policy.
• We will develop firm career path alternatives for all our people and communicate them openly.
• We will adopt a reward and recognition philosophy associated with all our people do – on the job, out in the community, for our industry, for the planet – and we will celebrate individual and group achievements whenever we can.
